I’m Holly
I am a humanistic counsellor with a genuine passion for supporting people as they navigate life’s challenges. I am continually inspired by the resilience and individuality of each person’s journey, and consider it a privilege to walk alongside you as we explore your unique experiences. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and accepted just as they are, and creating that safe, compassionate space for you is my priority.
My change of career to therapy came at a later stage in my life. Before counselling, I was managing restaurants in London, and whilst this was fun it was also stressful. I had experienced high anxiety for much of my life and struggled with feeling worthless. Then my mum died, it was complicated and painful to experience. It also made me realise the importance of therapy and compassion. I knew I wanted to be able to help support others as my therapist had supported me, and so my counselling journey began.
While I was studying to become a therapist my ADHD became prominent and I reflected on how it has affected part of my life both positively and negatively. I have struggled with overthinking, anxiety, overwhelm, burnout and never feeling good enough. It's been a hard time, however, I can see the positives now and I have gained self-awareness of how ADHD presents itself in me which has helped me manage it.
Thanks to my experiences, I understand how difficult it can feel and become a hurdle and create self-doubt. I want to help change that thought cycle. In addition to my personal experiences, I have had the privilege of working within the NHS, where I supported individuals facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, and struggles with identity. Each person’s story is different, and I approach each one with openness and respect.
